Don't Say "Mashallah" - say "Maa shaa' Allaah"‏

Just a reminder to be mindful of our pronounciation of certain phrases:

Don't say:

quote:
مشى الله
"Mashallah"

Instead say:
quote:
ما شاء الله
"Maa shaa' Allaah"

The first one means: Allaah walked.

The second one means: It is as Allaah has willed.

How to say "Thank You" in Arabic

let's separate the word into two parts: 'jazak' and 'Allah'
That's how it sounds to you right? (the way you spelled it is the way you hear it)
the first word in arabic is jazaka.  (not jazak) but because 'Allah' begins with 'a', it sounds like we just use the 'a' in allah to recite 'jazaka'

In arabic, when we refer to a person we use masculine or feminin nouns/verbs according to whether the person is male of female.
So when we say jazaka allahu khair.  the verb we used is 'jazaka' (masculine)
if we speak to a female the verb will be feminine: jazaki
"jazaki allahu khair" = "Allah reward you" (female)
When we use plural form, it's Jazakum allahu khair. = "Allah reward you all"
So there you have it.  masculine, feminine, and plural form

Is Music Halaal or Haraam in islam?..By Dr Zakin Naik

Islaam my Deen

Dr. Zakir Naik's View on Music in Islam

Prohibition of music is recorded in many authentic Ahadith.

Narrated Abu Malik Al-Ashari: "The Messenger (pbuh) of Allah (SWT) said, "Some people of my Ummah will drink wine, calling it by other than its real name, merriment will be made for them through the playing of musical instruments and the singing of lady singers. Allah will cleave the earth under them and turn others into monkeys and swines.
[Ibn Ma'jah Vol.5 Hadith No.4020]

Narrated Abu Amir or Abu Malik Al Ashari that he heard the Prophet saying, "From among my followers there will be some people who will consider illegal sexual intercourse, the wearing of silk, the drinking of alcoholic drinks and the use of musical instruments, as lawful. And there will be some people who will stay near the side of a mountain and in the evening their shepherd will come to them with their sheep and ask them for something, but they will say to him, 'Return to us tomorrow.' Allah will destroy them during the night and will let the mountain fall on them, and He will transform the rest of them into monkeys and pigs and they will remain so till the Day of Resurrection." [Sahih Al-Bukhari Vol.7 Hadith No.5590]

However, there are some Ahadith which indicate that it is permissible to beat the daff i.e. the tambourine (which is open on one side and covered on the other).

When Two hearts Meet

When Two Hearts Meet!
When two hearts meet
A beginning from a lovely seed
A love story far exceeds
Of Romeo and Juliet it supersedes
An Islamic love story that had never been told
As this is about to be unfold
A lady matured and bold
A kind young lad with a sincere soul
There is no tragic end
In Islam love is Godsend
When two hearts unite
In Allah it is tied.
Or when two lovers greet
From an Islamic breed
And when love meets
It is a blessing indeed
In Islam, this is the nature of love
Like a pair of lovely doves
As Allah (swt) is put far above
Of all things as HE truly deserves
The love between a man of 25 and a woman of 40*
Never it shown a line of faulty
As the pair lived happy**
For Islam they sacrificed aplenty
She was a pious wife
She was willing to loss her wealth and even life
When the enemies cut like a knife
This is the path they strived
A love story without a twist
As husband and wife they lived in peace
The storms they conquered together
This is the lesson we gather
In Islam love is sweet
Not just merely announcing in facebook, flickr or just tweet
A love story of ups and downs with plenty of sacrifice
As Jannah is the ultimate price
A true love story shown by Khadijah (ra) and Rasululllah (saw)
Just for the sake of Allah (swt)
Now to seek this glory
We have to learn from this Islamic Love Story
Now Muslims are in a state so sad and sorry
When A Twilight Saga “Breaking Dawn” – The Vampire story
A movie we relish and cherish
All Islamic examples thus go unnoticed! Alas it shall perish
But when this happened
Islam will never be awakened
So Muslims take heed
The many examples from the Islamic creed

* The Status of Khadijah (ra): “Jibraeel came to house of Rasulullah (SAW) and Khadijah (RA) was there. Jibraeel said: “Allah sends his salaam to Khadijah.” Rasulullah (SAW) said: ”O Khadijah, Allah is sending His salaams to you.” She said, “Allah is As-Salaam. And upon you O Jibraeel, be as-salaam and upon you Rasulullah be as-salaam.” (Bukhari)
** Al-Quran 30:21 “And of His signs is that He created for you from yourselves mates that you may find tranquillity in them; and He placed between you affection and mercy. Indeed in that are signs for a people who give thought.”

Imagine Your Death

Imagine yourself after you pass away
Imagine your grave through night and through day
Wishing that you did not do as they say
Wishing that you had got up and had prayed.

Imagine, my friends, the day that you died
Imagine all of the tears that they cried
Remember how it felt when your body was tied
Remember how it felt in the grave which you lied.

Imagine the day you'll be called to account
Imagine the sum to which your life will amount
Think for a moment of the deeds which you mount
Think for a moment how much they will count.

What will they say of you when you are dead?
What will they say, what will be said?
Will they speak of all the poor who you fed?
Will they remember all the Qu'ran that you read?

Think not of them, but of Allah, Lord of mankind and jinn
Think of Allah when tempted to sin
Think of the paradise which you will dwell in
Don't wait till later to think what might have been.

Ask HIM

Gather your hands together
And send your prayers away
Whisper your utmost love to Allah
And ask Him what you may...
Fill Him in your heart
And your eyes and your ears
And your mind, your soul
and your tears...

A Friend or an Enemy?

He wanted me to burn in hell,
He wanted me to be among those who fell,
He wished to lead me astray,
From my Lords mercy he tried to keep me away.
Was he my friend or enemy?

It was because of him I was deprived,
He had deceived so many,
He kept coming at me until I died,
I still didn’t realize amidst all the agony,
Was he my friend or enemy?

He whispered evil to me every day & every night,
He defeated me without me even putting up a fight,
I didn’t even try,
I thought I can just ignore him and let him pass by,
Was he my friend or enemy?

This is why I was drowned in sins,
All along he was sitting back and laughing at me,
Then death hit me, now I can see,
But it’s too late,
There’s no going back to change my fate.

His task had reached its end,
This was his plan all along,
He wasn’t my friend,
I understood it all wrong,
He was the Devil, my arch enemy!

SINS

Very Interesting Story -

Two teenagers asked their father if they could go to the theater to watch a movie that all their friends had seen he denied their request.

"Ah dad, why not?" they complained.
...
Dad replied: "Because every movie contains nudity and portrays immorality as being normal and acceptable behavior."
