Great reward – women prays fajr & sits and remembers Allah until sunrise

عَنْ أَنَسِ بْنِ مَالِكٍ قَالَ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ -صلى الله عليه وسلم- « مَنْ صَلَّى الْغَدَاةَ فِى جَمَاعَةٍ ثُمَّ قَعَدَ يَذْكُرُ اللَّهَ حَتَّى تَطْلُعَ الشَّمْسُ ثُمَّ صَلَّى رَكْعَتَيْنِ كَانَتْ لَهُ كَأَجْرِ حَجَّةٍ وَعُمْرَةٍ

Anas ibn Malik (radi Allahu Anhu) said, The Prophet (sallahu Alayhi wa salim) said,

” Whoever prays Fajr in congregation ,after that sits and remembers Allah until the sunrises, following this he prays two rakah earns the reward of Hajj or Umrah.”

Collected by At-Tirmithi (579) Imam At-Tirmithi and Al-Albani (May Allah mercy on them both) graded this hadeeth as Hasan. 586

Benefits for this subject:

• Imam At-Tirmithi titled a section in his Jami called, “The Recommendation to sit the Masjid after Fajr until sunrise.”

• Out of the six books of Hadeeth on Imam At-Tirmithi narrated this hadeeth

• The two Rakah here are referred to as Salatul Duha or Ishraq.

** An Issue specific for women **

Is the woman included for this reward if she prays in her house?

Shaykh Abdul Aziz bin Baz(may Allah have mercy on him) said,” If  a woman prays in her Musalla then after Fajr remembers Allah by Thikr or reading the Quran until sunup then offers two Rakah she gets reward mentioned in the hadeeth. (Majmu Fatawa vol 11)

Shaykh Muqbil (may Allah rest him in Jannah) said, “Yes she is. If a woman prays fajr in her house and sits and remembers Allah until sunrise.” [Verdicts for the Muslim Woman page 121. 1^st edition printed by Maktabah San'a Al-Athareeyah 2007]

In Islam the youth have an important place and as such deserve specific attention.

Here are a series of lectures delivered by our brother Abu Muhammad al-Maghribee on the24^th, 25^th and 26^th February 2012.  May Allaah reward him for his efforts in speading the Da’wah of the Salaf and keep him sincere in his efforts, ameen!!

Abu Muhammad says: “The child is like dough, when it fresh piece of dough.  When he was born, 1 year, 2 years, 3 years they don’t know much.  They don’t know anything.  Just like that fresh dough, you can shape it well roung.  You can make it long you can make it square you can cut it you can make it anyway you want it.  But once you cook it and it’s hard, can you do something else with it?  You can’t!  You are stuck with that.  Like wise,  certain people they neglect their children until they become a teenager, and they are already set up on one way or a different way… all of a sudden now the parents want to do something about it…”
