Great reward – women prays fajr & sits and remembers Allah until sunrise

Anas ibn Malik (radi Allahu Anhu) said, The Prophet (sallahu Alayhi wa salim) said,
” Whoever prays Fajr in congregation ,after that sits and remembers Allah until the sunrises, following this he prays two rakah earns the reward of Hajj or Umrah.”
Collected by At-Tirmithi (579) Imam At-Tirmithi and Al-Albani (May Allah mercy on them both) graded this hadeeth as Hasan. 586
Benefits for this subject:
  • Imam At-Tirmithi titled a section in his Jami called, “The Recommendation to sit the Masjid after Fajr until sunrise.”
  • Out of the six books of Hadeeth on Imam At-Tirmithi narrated this hadeeth
  • The two Rakah here are referred to as Salatul Duha or Ishraq.
** An Issue specific for women **
Is the woman included for this reward if she prays in her house?
Shaykh Abdul Aziz bin Baz(may Allah have mercy on him) said,” If  a woman prays in her Musalla then after Fajr remembers Allah by Thikr or reading the Quran until sunup then offers two Rakah she gets reward mentioned in the hadeeth. (Majmu Fatawa vol 11)
Shaykh Muqbil (may Allah rest him in Jannah) said, “Yes she is. If a woman prays fajr in her house and sits and remembers Allah until sunrise.” [Verdicts for the Muslim Woman page 121. 1st edition printed by Maktabah San'a Al-Athareeyah 2007]

Advice to our Youth- Abu Muhammad al-Maghribee [Audio/English]

In Islam the youth have an important place and as such deserve specific attention.
Here are a series of lectures delivered by our brother Abu Muhammad al-Maghribee on the24th, 25th and 26th February 2012.  May Allaah reward him for his efforts in speading the Da’wah of the Salaf and keep him sincere in his efforts, ameen!!
Abu Muhammad says: “The child is like dough, when it fresh piece of dough.  When he was born, 1 year, 2 years, 3 years they don’t know much.  They don’t know anything.  Just like that fresh dough, you can shape it well roung.  You can make it long you can make it square you can cut it you can make it anyway you want it.  But once you cook it and it’s hard, can you do something else with it?  You can’t!  You are stuck with that.  Like wise,  certain people they neglect their children until they become a teenager, and they are already set up on one way or a different way… all of a sudden now the parents want to do something about it…”

A Lesson On Bringing Up Muslim Children And The Devastating Ideas of a Christian Missionary

Al-Allaamah Adullaah Bin Muhammad Bin Humayd (rahimahullaah)
Excerpts:
“The teacher who teachers your child should be an upright example for his pupils. They take him as an example in fulfilling the commands of Allaah and in his manners, just as Uthaybah Bin Abee Sufyaan said to his children’s teacher: ‘Indeed, I have come to you to teach my children; firstly: rectify yourself and adhere to your religion, because their eyes are fixed to your eyes. They will not see you beautifying or doing something, except that they will blindly follow you in (that).’

The Difference Between Inspiration [Ilhaam] and Revelation [Wahy]

From Jaabir, may Allaah be pleased with him, who said, "When the time of the Battle of Uhud approached, my father called me at night and said, “I think that I will be the first amongst the Companions of the Prophet to be martyred. I do not leave anyone after me dearer to me than you, except Allah's Apostle's soul and I owe some debt and you should repay it and treat your sisters favourably (nicely and politely)." So in the morning he was the first to be martyred and was buried along with another (martyr).” [Bukhaari]
Shaikh al-Albaani said, “It should be known that this is not to be considered as having knowledge of the Unseen, for no-one except Allaah knows the Unseen, and nor is it from the category of Allaah showing His servants some of the Unseen as many ignorant people think it is, for Allaah the Most High said, “[He is] Knower of the unseen, and He does not disclose His [knowledge of the] unseen to anyone except a Messenger He has approved of.” [Jinn 72:26-27] [i.e., Jaabir's father was a Companion not a Messenger]
Rather [this incident] comes under the category of truthful inspiration [al-Ilhaam as-Saadiq], and the difference between it and revelation [wahy] is that inspiration [al-Ilhaam] is not safe from error or the fact that it may not materialise, unlike revelation [wahy] which is always infallible.”
Tahqiq Mishkaah al-Masaabih, 3/1674.

There's No One From Amongst You, Except That His Lord Will Speak To Him

Shaykhul-Islaam Ibn Taymiyyah (may Allaah have mercy upon him) mentioned in his writing Al-Aqeedah Al-Waasitiyyah:

The seventh narration which establishes the speech (of Allaah):

It is His (sallallaahu alayhi wa sallam) statement:

"There's no one from amongst you, except that his Lord will speak to him and there will be no translator between them."

Imaam Al-Allaamaah Shaykh Muhammad Ibn Saalih al-Uthaymeen (may Allaah have mercy upon him) stated explaining this:

"Allaah will speak to him and there will be no translator between them. That will take place on the Day of Judgment. The translator is the one who is between two individuals who speak different languages. He relays the speech of one to the other.

There are four conditions that have to be met in relation to the one who translates: Trustworthiness, that he is knowledgeable of the language he is translating from, he is knowledgeable of the language he is translating to and he is knowledgeable of the topic that he translating.

In this narration it's established that from the characteristics of Allaah is: The speech, and it is by way of a voice that is heard and understood.

The person should be be afraid from that speech which will take place between him and his Lord that he will become exposed in front of Allaah, when Allaah addresses him about his sins. Therefore, leave off the acts of sin and have fear of Allaah."

The Best of You are Those Who are Best to Their Families

Al Imaam Muhammad Ibn Saalih Al 'Uthaymeen (may Allaah have mercy upon him) commented on the statement of the Prophet (sallallaahu alayhi wa sallam):
"The best of you are those who are best to their families."
The Shaykh (may Allaah preserve him) stated:
"The best of the people are those who are best to their families. That is because the relatives are the ones who are more entitled to the good treatment. Therefore, if there's any good in you then let your family be the first of those who benefit from this good. This is the opposite of what the people do today. You'll find him to be one who has bad character with his family but he has good character with other than them. This is a major mistake/wrongdoing. Your family has more right to be treated with goodness. That is because they are with you night and day, in private and in public. If something befalls you, they are afflicted along with you. If you're happy, they are happy. If you're sad, they are sad. Therefore, let your dealings with them be better than your dealings with outsiders. The best of the people are those who are best to their families. We askAllaah to complete for me and the Muslimeen the Eemaan and that He makes us the best of the servants ofAllaah regarding our families and those who have rights over us."

Preparing our Youth To be Leaders Of Tomorrow

(Written by sister Zohra Sarwari)

Building great leaders requires hard work from parents, educators, teachers, counselors, imams, elder siblings, and community leaders. Some of the greatest leaders have emerged when Jahiylah was far and wide. In fact, Islaam spread at a time of great cruelties and social ills. As centuries passed, eminent leaders continued to appear even though there was corruption in the land. Therefore, instead of allowing the disheartening realities surrounding us to wallow in despair, we should focus on ways in which we can foster distinguished leaders. The biggest problem that the Ummah faces in building righteous leaders is a lack of unified vision and mission.

Saykh Ibn Uthaymeen: Advice on Unity

I advise my brothers that they should unify their ranks, and that they should be like a single body seeking to establish the Religion of Allah, as Allah - the Most High - said:
"He (Allah) has ordained for you the same religion (Islam) which He ordained for Nuh (Noah), and that which We have inspired in you (O Muhammad ), and that which We ordained for Ibrahim (Abraham), Musa (Moses) and 'Iesa (Jesus) saying you should establish religion (i.e. to do what it orders you to do practically), and make no divisions in it (religion)..." [Sura ash-Shooraa 42:13].

Ibn Baaz and his Walking Stick

Umar ibn Muhammad Sa'eed said, "Fifteen years ago we used to wake up for Fajr prayer at the sound of his walking stick before [we would hear] the sound of the call to prayer.  He, may Allaah have mercy on him, used to be eager to knock the doors of his neighbours who were on his way to the mosque."

Celebrating the Prophet’s Birthday, sallallaahu alaihi wa sallam: Al-Albaani’s Step by Step Explanation Showing Why it is an Innovation

Shaikh Al-AlbaniCelebrating the noble birthday of the Prophet, is it good or evil?
Questioner[It is] good.
Shaikh Al-AlbaniOkay.  This good - were the Prophet, sallallaahu alaihi wa sallam, and his Companions ignorant of it?
QuestionerNo.

‘Umar ibn Al-Khattab, Al-Fârûq

‘Umar ibn Al-Khattab, Al-Fârûq (the one who distinguishes truth from falsehood)

In the Name of Allâh, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful

All the praises and thanks be to Allâh, the Lord of the ‘Aalamîn (mankind, jinn and all that exists). Prayers and peace of Allah be upon the seal of the Prophets and Messengers; our Prophet Muhammad and upon all his family and companions.

In this tour we will be in the company of the second man in Islam, after the Messenger of Allah, prayers and peace of Allah be upon him, and after Abu Bakr As-Siddîq. This is the man whose name is paired with justice and truth, strength and courage, and asceticism and godliness. His name is linked to piety, observing and fearing Allah, and crying out of fearing Him. This man is known for his intuition and intelligence, his accuracy of vision and insight, of being conscientious, and of conquering the desires of the self.

Abu-Bakr As-Siddîq (the Man of Truth)

In the Name of Allâh, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful

All the praises and thanks be to Allâh, prayers and peace of Allah be upon the Messenger of Allah and upon all his family and companions.

We have an appointment with a man; after the Prophets and Messengers the sun has never risen nor set over a better man than him.

He is a man whose faith has been weighed against the faith of the whole nation, and his faith over weighed it all.

She’s My Sister - A True Story about Death

Her cheeks were worn and sunken and her skin hugged her bones. That didn’t stop her though; you could never catch her not reciting Qur’an. Always vigil in her personal prayer room Dad had set up for her. Bowing, prostrating, raising her hands in prayer; that was the way she was from dawn to sunset and back again, boredom was for others.
As for me I craved nothing more than fashion magazines and novels. I treated myself all the time to videos until those trips to the rental place became my trademark. As they say, when something becomes habit people tend to distinguish you by it. I was negligent in my responsibilities and laziness characterized my Salah.

Do Not Live Without a Vision

One key quality of any successful person is to live for a mission. Unsuccessful people live from one day to the next. They are not inspired by something virtuous not living for a noble goal and therefore they do not live a noble life. Islam, being a religion of nobility, does not want people to live in this way. Allah encourages people to compete for the best possible afterlife and be inspired all of the time. In the Qur’an we read,

{Race one with another in hastening towards Forgiveness from your Lord (Allah), and towards Paradise, the width whereof is as the width of heaven and earth, prepared for those who believe in Allah and His Messengers. That is the Grace of Allah which He bestows on whom He pleases. And Allah is the Owner of Great Bounty.} [Al-Hadid 57:21]

Late night Prayer

“The best prayer after the obligatory prayers is that during the depths of the night.” [Muslim]

«أفضل الصلاة، بعد الصلاة المكتوبة، الصلاة في جوف الليل» رواه مسلم

There are many aspects that make the late-night prayer special. First and foremost, it is a prayer. The best action or matter is prayer.

Second, al-Haitami points out that, in general, the prayer performed in the late-night is more virtuous than the voluntary prayers during the day because it is further from ostentation and being done for show. In other words, the intention behind the late-night prayers should be a pure one. Furthermore, it is easy to have the fear of Allah and concentrate on the prayer in the late-night prayer as there are fewer disturbances at the time.

Thirdly, it makes the person realize his real purpose and goal in this life. He is getting up in the middle of the night and forsaking his sleep because he realizes that his goal is not the pleasure or relaxation of this world. Instead, he has a much greater purpose and goal in life. For that reason, he is getting up to pray when the rest of mankind are either sleeping or committing sins under the cover of night.

None was dearer to me than the Messenger of Allah (prayers and peace of Allah be upon him)

In the name of Allah the Most Gracious the Most Merciful

All praise is due to Allah the Lord of the worlds. And prayers and peace of Allah be upon the most honorable prophet and messenger, our prophet Muhammad, and all his family and companions.

A caravan departed Iraq in 394 A.H. for performing Hajj in a time of fear and scare of the Bedouins and the thieves of pilgrims. After performing Hajj, the leader of the caravan decided to return quickly to Baghdad and not to go to the Prophetic City for fear of those thieves. However, two young reciters stood at the forepart of the road that leads to the Prophetic City and recited: {It was not becoming of the people of Al-Madinah and the bedouins of the neighbourhood to remain behind Allâh’s Messenger (Muhammad prayers and peace of Allah be upon him when fighting in Allâh’s Cause) and (it was not becoming of them) to prefer their own lives to his life.} [Surat At-Tawba 9:120]

A house in Paradise

Ibn Baaz and His Driver

The Shaikh’s driver, Shaaheen, said, “There were about three occasions when I was late in getting to the car to take the Shaikh for the morning prayer.  Each time he would smile and not say a single word about my lateness even though he would be standing there waiting by the car before me.  This was how he was with all of his workers, may Allaah have mercy on him, he would never complain about anyone.”

A Day in the Life of a Scholar: Imaam Ibn Baaz

Shaikh Muhammad al-Musaa said, “Once when we were in Makkah, the Shaikh was called to participate in a da’wah gathering in Jeddah by someone dear to him, and he insisted that his eminence be present immediately after maghrib prayer, so the Shaikh said, ‘Good, inshaa Allaah.’
When the Shaikh prayed maghrib he felt it difficult upon himself to leave his established sitting with the people from maghrib to Ishaa, so he said, ‘We won't go now and leave the people.  I have to sit with them up until Ishaa and tend to their needs and their demands,’ so he remained with them [in his house].

Advice of ‘Umar ibn al-Khattab (radhiallahu `anhu):

Beware of Obesity

Advice of ‘Umar ibn al-Khattab (radhiallahu `anhu):
“O people! Beware of obesity caused by food because that will surely make one lazy from performing prayers and it is harmful to one’s body, and truly, Allah dislikes the obese man. Rather, you should observe modesty (and intent) with regards to your provisions and food, as that is closer to piety, far from excessiveness and strengthens one in worshipping Allah `azza wa jall. And a slave will not fall into destruction until his desires become dearer to him than his religion.”

A man went to Ibn ‘Abbas radiAllaahu ‘anhu and said, “O Ibn ‘Abbas, I want to enjoin people to do good and forbid them from doing evil.” Ibn ‘Abbas said, “And have you reached that level?” He said, “I hope that that is so.” He said, “If you do not fear to be exposed by three verses of Allah’s Book, then do so.” The man asked, “And what are they?” He mentioned this verse:

Enjoin you Al-Birr (piety and righteousness and each and every act of obedience to Allâh) on the people and you forget (to practise it) yourselves.” (Baqarah 2:44)

We All need it ..Repentance

A Cry for Help - Turn to Repentance

Shaykh Ibn Baaz ,
Al-Istiqaamah Magazine, Issue No.6 - Dhul-Qa'dah 1417H / March 1997
[Q]: I am a young man, nineteen years of age, and have involved myself in a great deal of sin. Even to the extent that I do not pray most of my Prayers in the mosque, and I have never completely fasted the month of Ramadaan in my entire life. Besides these, I have committed other sins as well. I have vowed to repent many times before, however, after doing so I lapse back into these same sins. The youths of my area are just as bad, as are the friends that I associate with. And Allaah knows that I have transgressed against myself and that whenever I repent, I return back to the same sins. I hope that you may direct me to a path that will bring me closer to my Lord and distance me from these evil actions of mine.

Al-Albaani Destroys, “If you’re not with us, you’re against us.”

by Ahmed Abu Turaab

Questioner: There are principles, O Shaikh, which some of the youth act upon, from these rules is, ‘Whoever does not declare a disbeliever to be a disbeliever then he is a disbeliever.  Whoever does not declare an innovator to be an innovator then he is an innovator,’ and another rule, ‘Whoever is not with us, then he is against us.’
What is your opinion about these rules, O Shaikh?

Having taqwaa of Allaah

source: silsilat ul-hudaa wa nnoor, tape no. 5a/1
asaheeha translations
Question: [Advice to the Muslims to fear Allaah when seeking provision, and during hardships and trials]
Shaykh al-Albaani (rahimahullaah) says:
“Our calamity today is that we have turned away from the main purpose for which we were created, which is: worshiping Allaah, tabaarak wa ta’aala. So most of us don’t worship Allaah, and the few who do worship Allaah don’t know how to worship Him. And from the things that we have forgotten – which are mentioned in the preserved Qur’aan that Allaah, ‘azza wa jal, blessed upon us as He said: {Verily, it is We Who have sent down the Dhikr (i.e. the Qur’aan) and surely, We will guard it}[1] – is: {And whosoever fears Allah and keeps his duty to Him, He will make a way for him to get out (from every difficulty). And He will provide for him from (sources) he never could imagine}.[2]

The status of the Sunnah in Islam

The Role of the Sunnah towards the Quran:
The Sunnah cannot dispense with the Quran: Allaah Almighty chose Muhammad  sallallaahu `alayhi wa sallam ( may Allaah exalt his mention ) , as His Prophet and selected him to deliver His final message. The Quran was revealed to the Prophet  sallallaahu `alayhi wa sallam ( may Allaah exalt his mention ) in which Allaah commanded him to obey everything that was ordered of him; that is, to convey and explain His message to the people.
Allaah Almighty says what means: "…And We revealed to you the message [i.e., the Quran] that you may make clear to the people what was sent down to them…" [Quran: 16:44]
The declaration mentioned in the verse contains two commands:
1. To propagate the speech of Allaah (i.e. the Quran). This is to openly communicate the Quran to (all) mankind as Allaah Almighty has revealed to the Prophet  sallallaahu `alayhi wa sallam ( may Allaah exalt his mention ) that which means: "O Messenger! Announce that which has been revealed to you from your Lord…" [Quran: 5:67]

Whoever Imitates A People then He Is Of Them

Bismillah ar-rahman araheem

Immam al-Albani (english)

Imitation of the Kuffar 2
I had not planned to speak to you, rather the plan was that we would have a brother of ours visiting us. This brother is with us in the da’wa salafiya from old times. When his brothers called him to submit to the book of Allah and the sunnah of his messenger, he submitted and came to it. We had planned that he should speak and give us a word that would benefit the Muslimeen in general, the Salafiyeen in specific. But as I was entering, another thought came upon me. I have decided to speak on a topic because this is an opportunity that I find. It is concerning a brother of ours that we did not know before; rather he is a brother from the brothers that we did not see. He came and visited us a few days ago and he is here visiting once again tonight. That is that this brother had visited us and sat in some of our sittings. He saw the interaction between me and our brothers. He looked at me as their Sheikh and them as the students. As he saw this interaction between us, he criticized it, which lead me to have to explain to him that you will not find us like the Sheikh with his followers. The brother went on to say that I just do not find the interaction from the students with you similar to the other Shyookh and their students. The sheikh then explained to him, you will not find us like the followers of those Shyookh. In fact, we are about to enter into the sitting and you are going to see something else that you will not like. The brother said what is it? The Sheikh told him, wait and you will see. As the brother entered the sitting, no body moved. No one got up to give the Sheikh salam, as is the tradition in some of the sittings that this brother was speaking about. The answer to the sheikh was as he was used to, the anwer being, if you want to get up, then get up, if not, then you don’t have to.

"...they think that they know everything."

Imaam Al-Albaani, rahimahu`Allah, said:
"The problem with the youths of today is that, as soon as they learn something new, they think that they know everything."
[Al-Hudaa wa An-Nur p.861]

"Never think that Allaah is unaware..."

Imaam Ahmad (rahimahu`Allah) used to say:
''If you are alone one day, do not say 'I am alone,' but say, 'There is an All-Watcher with me.' Never think that Allaah is unaware even for an hour or that unhidden things are not known by Him.'"

Blowing on One's Food - Shaykh Saalih Al-Fawzaan

Shaykh Saalih Al-Fawzaan, hafidhahu`Allah, said:

Allah does not change a people's condition unless they change what is in their hearts

Allah will not change the condition of a people as long as they do not change themselves
(Part No. 9; Page No. 297)

Q: What is the Tafsir (explanation/exegesis of the meanings of the Qur'an) of Allah's Saying in Surah (Qur'anic chapter) Ar-Ra`d, Verily, Allâh will not change the (good) condition of a people as long as they do not change their state (of goodness) themselves (by committing sins and by being ungrateful and disobedient to Allâh). But when Allâh wills a people’s punishment, there can be no turning back of it, and they will find besides Him no protector. ?

My husband is not concerned with me at all

Question: My husband, may Allaah forgive him, although he has noble character and fear of Allaah, is not concerned with me at all in the home. He is always frowning and depressing. One might claim that I am the cause but, and Allaah knows this, I am, and all praises are due to Allaah, fulfilling his rights and I try my best to make everything very pleasant and nice for him. I also keep anything harmful from him and I am patient with how he treats me. Every time I ask him about something or speak to him, he gets upset and agitated. He claims that it is ridiculous and useless speech, although he is very friendly with his companions and friends.

As for me, I only see harshness and contempt. This hurts me very much and I really suffer from it. Many times I have thought about simply leaving the home. I am a woman, and all praises are due to Allaah, who has an average education and I fulfill the obligations Allaah has put upon me. Dear Shaykh, if I leave the house, bring up my children alone and take on my worldly needs by myself, would I be sinful? Or should I stay with him in this situation and just stop talking and participating with him?
