Celebrating the Prophet’s Birthday, sallallaahu alaihi wa sallam: Al-Albaani’s Step by Step Explanation Showing Why it is an Innovation

Shaikh Al-AlbaniCelebrating the noble birthday of the Prophet, is it good or evil?
Questioner[It is] good.
Shaikh Al-AlbaniOkay.  This good - were the Prophet, sallallaahu alaihi wa sallam, and his Companions ignorant of it?
QuestionerNo.

‘Umar ibn Al-Khattab, Al-Fârûq

‘Umar ibn Al-Khattab, Al-Fârûq (the one who distinguishes truth from falsehood)

In the Name of Allâh, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful

All the praises and thanks be to Allâh, the Lord of the ‘Aalamîn (mankind, jinn and all that exists). Prayers and peace of Allah be upon the seal of the Prophets and Messengers; our Prophet Muhammad and upon all his family and companions.

In this tour we will be in the company of the second man in Islam, after the Messenger of Allah, prayers and peace of Allah be upon him, and after Abu Bakr As-Siddîq. This is the man whose name is paired with justice and truth, strength and courage, and asceticism and godliness. His name is linked to piety, observing and fearing Allah, and crying out of fearing Him. This man is known for his intuition and intelligence, his accuracy of vision and insight, of being conscientious, and of conquering the desires of the self.

Abu-Bakr As-Siddîq (the Man of Truth)

In the Name of Allâh, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful

All the praises and thanks be to Allâh, prayers and peace of Allah be upon the Messenger of Allah and upon all his family and companions.

We have an appointment with a man; after the Prophets and Messengers the sun has never risen nor set over a better man than him.

He is a man whose faith has been weighed against the faith of the whole nation, and his faith over weighed it all.

She’s My Sister - A True Story about Death

Her cheeks were worn and sunken and her skin hugged her bones. That didn’t stop her though; you could never catch her not reciting Qur’an. Always vigil in her personal prayer room Dad had set up for her. Bowing, prostrating, raising her hands in prayer; that was the way she was from dawn to sunset and back again, boredom was for others.
As for me I craved nothing more than fashion magazines and novels. I treated myself all the time to videos until those trips to the rental place became my trademark. As they say, when something becomes habit people tend to distinguish you by it. I was negligent in my responsibilities and laziness characterized my Salah.

Do Not Live Without a Vision

One key quality of any successful person is to live for a mission. Unsuccessful people live from one day to the next. They are not inspired by something virtuous not living for a noble goal and therefore they do not live a noble life. Islam, being a religion of nobility, does not want people to live in this way. Allah encourages people to compete for the best possible afterlife and be inspired all of the time. In the Qur’an we read,

{Race one with another in hastening towards Forgiveness from your Lord (Allah), and towards Paradise, the width whereof is as the width of heaven and earth, prepared for those who believe in Allah and His Messengers. That is the Grace of Allah which He bestows on whom He pleases. And Allah is the Owner of Great Bounty.} [Al-Hadid 57:21]

Late night Prayer

“The best prayer after the obligatory prayers is that during the depths of the night.” [Muslim]

«أفضل الصلاة، بعد الصلاة المكتوبة، الصلاة في جوف الليل» رواه مسلم

There are many aspects that make the late-night prayer special. First and foremost, it is a prayer. The best action or matter is prayer.

Second, al-Haitami points out that, in general, the prayer performed in the late-night is more virtuous than the voluntary prayers during the day because it is further from ostentation and being done for show. In other words, the intention behind the late-night prayers should be a pure one. Furthermore, it is easy to have the fear of Allah and concentrate on the prayer in the late-night prayer as there are fewer disturbances at the time.

Thirdly, it makes the person realize his real purpose and goal in this life. He is getting up in the middle of the night and forsaking his sleep because he realizes that his goal is not the pleasure or relaxation of this world. Instead, he has a much greater purpose and goal in life. For that reason, he is getting up to pray when the rest of mankind are either sleeping or committing sins under the cover of night.

None was dearer to me than the Messenger of Allah (prayers and peace of Allah be upon him)

In the name of Allah the Most Gracious the Most Merciful

All praise is due to Allah the Lord of the worlds. And prayers and peace of Allah be upon the most honorable prophet and messenger, our prophet Muhammad, and all his family and companions.

A caravan departed Iraq in 394 A.H. for performing Hajj in a time of fear and scare of the Bedouins and the thieves of pilgrims. After performing Hajj, the leader of the caravan decided to return quickly to Baghdad and not to go to the Prophetic City for fear of those thieves. However, two young reciters stood at the forepart of the road that leads to the Prophetic City and recited: {It was not becoming of the people of Al-Madinah and the bedouins of the neighbourhood to remain behind Allâh’s Messenger (Muhammad prayers and peace of Allah be upon him when fighting in Allâh’s Cause) and (it was not becoming of them) to prefer their own lives to his life.} [Surat At-Tawba 9:120]

A house in Paradise

In the Name of Allâh, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful

A house in paradise

The Prophet, prayers and peace of Allah be upon him, has said, “He who built a mosque for Allah, Bukair said, ‘I think he (the Holy Prophet) said, ‘While he seeks the pleasure of Allah (by building the mosque)’ Allah would build for him a house in paradise.” [Reported by al-Bukhari and Muslim]

Ibn Baaz and His Driver

The Shaikh’s driver, Shaaheen, said, “There were about three occasions when I was late in getting to the car to take the Shaikh for the morning prayer.  Each time he would smile and not say a single word about my lateness even though he would be standing there waiting by the car before me.  This was how he was with all of his workers, may Allaah have mercy on him, he would never complain about anyone.”
Mawaaqif Mudee’ah, p. 199.

A Day in the Life of a Scholar: Imaam Ibn Baaz

Shaikh Muhammad al-Musaa said, “Once when we were in Makkah, the Shaikh was called to participate in a da’wah gathering in Jeddah by someone dear to him, and he insisted that his eminence be present immediately after maghrib prayer, so the Shaikh said, ‘Good, inshaa Allaah.’
When the Shaikh prayed maghrib he felt it difficult upon himself to leave his established sitting with the people from maghrib to Ishaa, so he said, ‘We won't go now and leave the people.  I have to sit with them up until Ishaa and tend to their needs and their demands,’ so he remained with them [in his house].

Advice of ‘Umar ibn al-Khattab (radhiallahu `anhu):

Beware of Obesity

Advice of ‘Umar ibn al-Khattab (radhiallahu `anhu):
“O people! Beware of obesity caused by food because that will surely make one lazy from performing prayers and it is harmful to one’s body, and truly, Allah dislikes the obese man. Rather, you should observe modesty (and intent) with regards to your provisions and food, as that is closer to piety, far from excessiveness and strengthens one in worshipping Allah `azza wa jall. And a slave will not fall into destruction until his desires become dearer to him than his religion.”

Seven Persons in Allah Ta'ala's shade on the day of judgement

Narrated Abu Huraira (Radi Allah Anhu): The Prophet (Sallalahu Alaihe Wassalam)) said:

"Allah will give shade, to seven, on the Day when there will be no shade but His. These seven persons are:

Begin with yourself

A man went to Ibn ‘Abbas radiAllaahu ‘anhu and said, “O Ibn ‘Abbas, I want to enjoin people to do good and forbid them from doing evil.” Ibn ‘Abbas said, “And have you reached that level?” He said, “I hope that that is so.” He said, “If you do not fear to be exposed by three verses of Allah’s Book, then do so.” The man asked, “And what are they?” He mentioned this verse:

Enjoin you Al-Birr (piety and righteousness and each and every act of obedience to Allâh) on the people and you forget (to practise it) yourselves.” (Baqarah 2:44)

Imam al-Shafi’i and the Old Man

Rabi’ ibn Sulayman (a companion of Imam al-Shafi’i) said:

‘We were with al-Shafi’i one day when an old man wearing garments of wool came to us with a walking-stick in his hand. Al-Shafi’i stood up, fixed his clothes and greeted the old man. He sat down and al-Shafi’i began looking at him in admiration when the man said:
